Battery Age Minerals

Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) is an ASX-listed mineral exploration company. Its flagship asset is the Bleiberg project in Austria, covering a historic lead-zinc-germanium mine. The company also has the Falcon Lake Lithium project in Canada, but we see the greater potential as we move into 2025 Bleiberg's germanium potential to prove a 'company maker'.

We spoke with Nigel Broomham, CEO of Battery Age Minerals (ASX: BM8), about the company's recent analysis of a government initiated study of the Bleiberg Lead-Zinc-Germanium Project in Austria. Battery Age Minerals has found that the germanium grades historically mined at Bleiberg may be much higher than expected, in the order of up to 1,500 g/t. This has significant positive implications for the future of Bleiberg, including the potential to bypass a smelter and take concentrates straight to chemical refining, offering substantial ESG and cost advantages. With China having sanctioned germanium exports to the US in 2024, Battery Age Minerals has a project in the heart of the EU, which policy makers will be following with interest.
